The Department of Transportation (DOT) Traffic Team is seeking a recent engineering college graduate to join the team. This role involves aiding in traffic signal monitoring and timing, as well as performing operational evaluations both at individual traffic signals and within the corridors controlled by the Econolite Centracs Signal System. Lee County DOT operates over 450 signals across the County, regardless of the jurisdictional owner (state, county, or local government).
The County boasts an active and expanding intelligent transportation system (ITS), with most ITS devices, including intersection controllers, connected via fiber optics to the operations center, where this position is based.
