Frederick Health is seeking a Director of Biomedical Engineering. This individual will have the chief responsibility for the operation and function of the various modalities for the hospital Biomed department and a resource for all technicians. He/she will be capable of troubleshooting repairing and performing preventative maintenance on a wide variety of medical devices including providing safety checks, repairs, calibrations and preventative maintenance to life support and general patient care equipment. They will be collaborating with peers on medical equipment needs, developing budgets, negotiating agreements, developing training plans for technicians and making recommendations related to equipment purchases, repairs and maintenance.

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required:
This position will require a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Technology or Electronics or could consider a certificate of completion of a technical program in Biomedical Technology or Electronics, or military education and training in Bio-Medical Electronics Technology with related experience. Will require 5 years supervisory or management experience in a health care setting. Requiring a broad knowledge of various hospital / homecare medical equipment. Must have electronic and mechanic ability and be able to read and interpret service manuals and schematics.
