The Akizu Lab in the Department of Pathology at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a highly skilled Scientist in Computational Biology. Strong background in experimental biology (wet lab) and advanced expertise in multi-omics data analysis, including RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, CutRun, and single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), with proven experience in developing and optimizing custom bioinformatics pipelines. Programming proficiency in R, Python, and Bash, and familiarity with high-performance computing environments and version control using GitHub. PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, molecular biology, or a closely related field is required, with demonstrated capability in managing complex, high-dimensional data sets and integrating multi-modal datasets. Candidates should possess a deep understanding of neurodevelopmental or epigenetic research, a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, and proven experience in collaborative, interdisciplinary projects. The successful applicant will contribute to NIH-funded projects exploring the role of chromatin modifiers in neurodevelopmental disorders, develop and optimize custom bioinformatics pipelines, and actively collaborate with experimental biologists.
