The Title V Permitting Program is hiring a Unit Supervisor whose role involves overseeing the operating permit program to ensure compliance with Federal and State Acts pertaining to Title V operating permits. This position directs the processing of complex permit applications and undertakes administrative duties such as performance planning and review, budget preparation, and staff coordination. The Supervisor also plays a pivotal role in implementing process improvement initiatives within the Stationary Source Program. Additionally, the job entails managing unit outcomes, providing leadership and direction, developing partnerships, and representing the division at public hearings. The Supervisor collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to advise, negotiate, and resolve complex operating permit issues. Technical duties include providing guidance on Operating Permit review, process improvements, and interpreting regulatory requirements to staff and the public.
Residency Requirement:This posting is open to current and non-current residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application. However, if you are selected and accept the position, you will be required to establish residence in the State of Colorado.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience: Current, valid licensure as a Professional Engineer from the Colorado State Board of Licensure for Architects, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors
AND
Two (2) years of professional experience in Title V air permitting, one of which must have been as a licensed professional engineer.
Substitutions Appropriate education in addition to that required for the professional engineer license will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to the minimum requirements, the successful candidate in this position will have the following experience:
Previous experience managing a team and/or project Previous experience reviewing work by other staff
3 years prior experience working with and understanding Colorado air quality regulations
3 years prior experience with air quality construction permits
3 years prior experience with air quality Title V operating permits
