Assist clients in maintaining their electrical distribution system assets to prevent untimely and costly power interruptions / outages. Scope of Work: Evaluate electrical distribution systems (both on-line (energized) and off-line (de-energized)) using state of the art technologies for diagnosis and recommendations for remedial action where needed. On-Line Technologies: Thermographic Imaging (Infrared Cameras) Ultrasound (Listening to internal parts of an asset) Voltage Drop investigation using Digital Multi-Meters (Fluke 1750 / 43B / Etc.) Power Quality studies using data recording devices. (Dranetz, AEMC, Etc.) Partial Discharge (insulation breakdown) using both TEV meters and Doble On-Line test equipment. Off-Line Technologies: Insulation Resistance (Megohmmeter) Transformer Turns Ration (TTR) Primary Current Injection (High-Current Test Sets) Secondary Current (Secondary Test Set) Ground Fault Relay Test (Ground Fault Relay Test Set) Ground Resistance (Ground Resistance Clamp Tester) DLRO (Digital Low Resistance Ohmmeter – “Ducter”) DGOA (Dissolved Gas Oil Analysis mainly in Transformers) Overvoltage Withstand Test (High Potential DC Test Set) Very Low Frequency (VLF AC Test Set) Breaker Maintenance (LV / MV) Skills
Ability to recognize NEC violations / improper installations. Computer skills (Word, Excel, Etc) to enter data into report generator. Experience in the installation and function of electrical systems. NICET / NETA certifications are a plus. Infrared Level 1 or Level 2 are a plus. Ultrasound Level 1 or Level 2 are a plus. General knowledge of electrical apparatus up to 35Kv. Any other certifications that relate to electrical asset maintenance/testing is a plus. Power Systems Analysis and modeling using Easy Power / SKM software. Familiarity with NFPA 70B and NFPA 70E. (We can train if needed.) Willingness to test energized electrical equipment up to 600volts.
