The City Engineer plans, directs, and evaluates all activities of the City's engineering program.
Supervises the divisional team.
Oversees the coordination, preparation, and execution, and completion of short- and long-range capital improvement plans, programs, budgets for streets.
Water, wastewater, and storm water distribution, collection, and storage systems; and assigned facilities.
Oversees the Engineering Division review of residential subdivision and commercial project plans and construction drawings during the subdivision platting and/or building permit review processes to ensure compliance with local, state, federal rules, standards, codes, and laws while also screening for traffic, parking, drainage, and right-of-way conflicts and issues.

Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota. Professional Engineers licensed in another state will be considered and will be required to become licensed in Minnesota if hired.
Eight (8) years of public works, engineering, construction or equivalent experience with a minimum of four (4) years of supervisory experience.
OR
Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job proficiently may be substituted for the above requirements.
