What You’ll Be Doing
The Field Service Engineer – PET/CT/NucMed performs skilled, technical, and advisory work in the installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration of diagnostic and/or other imaging devices and systems. In conjunction with radiation physicists, you’ll perform quality assurance testing and calibration on equipment. This role reports to the Regional Service Manager and is responsible for training medical and clinical staff in the safe and proper use of such equipment and systems.
This is a home office-based position that requires up to 80% travel to regional customer locations in the Northeast (New Hampshire/Connecticut/New York) area and surrounding vicinities. A company car, gas card, trunk tools, laptop, and cell phone are provided.
Essential Duties
Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair diagnostic and/or other imaging equipment and systems utilizing established electronic tests and measurement equipment and techniques.
Discuss any pending installations, including any new construction, repairs, preventive maintenance, de-installations needed, and recalls with external and internal resources.
Install the actual units and conduct customer in-house products and unit training, to include medical and clinical staff, on the safe and proper use of diagnostic imaging equipment and systems.
Perform scheduled maintenance, calibrations, and/or modifications on imaging equipment and systems, in accordance with department procedures, manufacturers' recommendations, physicist's specifications and/or other applicable codes and standards.
Provide operational and technical advice on diagnostic imaging equipment to medical and clinical staff.
Document and maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and adjustments performed on all equipment.
Prepare and obtain all training documentation and installation certifications as required by the company, customer, FDA, and/or state regulatory agencies.
Respond to Support Services when calls are dispatched and schedule service with customers to meet contractual obligations.
Complete service reports, including Preventative Maintenance documents, and submit them within the established guidelines of the department. Track and record all installation information as required.
Complete and submit expense reports within the established guidelines of the department.
Request and order necessary repairs and spare parts and maintain documentation, including shipping records, according to established procedures and contract relationships.
Responsible for keeping the Product Support Specialist, Area Service Manager, and Sales Team up to date on customer contacts and resolution of any application problems.
Accountable for assisting with retention and growth of contract and Time and Materials (T&M) revenue for areas of responsibility.
Follow all pertinent requirements to meet ISO13485 certification as it pertains to Field Service Engineers.
Participate in internal and external educational programs to develop and maintain the required current technical aptitude. Must maintain currency with imaging technology and networking technology.
Provide on-call service coverage on a rotating basis as needed, including evening and weekend work as required.
What Skills Do I Need?
We welcome candidates with PET-CT and/or NucMed equipment diagnostic and repair experience and those with related diagnostic imaging equipment education and experience who are seeking to grow their skills. We train those who are eager to learn!
Education/Experience
5 or more years of experience servicing PET-CT and/or NucMed equipment.
Degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, biomedical technology, electrical engineering, or equivalent. Military equivalency is also acceptable.
Previous mechanical electronics or electrical work experience, either in a field service or hospital-based setting, is required.
Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment and responding to customer concerns.
Familiarity with the use of common electronic test equipment, including Digital Multi-Meters and safety analyzers.
Solid computer skills. Working knowledge of MS Office, software operating systems, and network technology.
Previous experience interacting with internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process.
Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, illustrated parts diagrams, and technical manuals of biomedical and imaging instrumentation.
Adherence to certification/credentialing as required by the Customer in connection with admission into its facilities to perform job duties.
Customer requirements may include but are not limited to drug testing and immunizations, including Covid vaccination, as dictated by the customer or facility policy.

Physical Requirements
Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
Must be able to sit for long periods, as required for the position, through meetings and travel requirements.
Lifts, carries and/or pushes/pulls various items (bags, boxes, cart of up to 100 lbs) while utilizing proper technique.
