Beardsley Architects + Engineers is seeking a licensed Structural Engineer with the ability to provide full design services to our broad range of clients and diverse project types.  Candidates must be able to perform engineering evaluations and analysis, design drawings, technical specifications and cost estimates across all facets of structural engineering as it relates to building design for low to mid-rise structures. Additionally, experience working with other disciplines including architects, mechanical, electrical and civil engineers is desired.

We are looking for a team member with the following minimum qualifications:

• BS. in Civil Engineering with EIT is required, PE in NYS is preferred.
• The ideal candidate will have 3 to 7 years of project related experience in building superstructure and foundation design.
• Proficiency in Revit, Enercalc and other structural software is required, Proficiency with RISA Suite is preferred.
• Experience in wood, steel, concrete and masonry design for multi-family, commercial, civic and residential development projects.
• Ability to prepare and oversee the preparation of contract documents, calculations and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of ASCE, ACI, AISI, AISC and IBC code requirements and industry standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Experience in construction period services required.
• Applicants shall be a US Citizen and security background checks may be necessary based on client requirements.

• Performing detailed measure-ups and observations of existing project conditions.
• Developing Revit models using existing documentation, plans, and surveys.
• Utilizing Revit and other CADD software to create plans, details, schedules and other documents.
• Providing coordination with the Architectural and MEP teams.
• Resolving technical/design issues to maintain plan progress and quality control.
• Developing project specifications and other documents.
• Performing material quantity take-offs and assisting with unit pricing for project estimates.
• Reviewing construction period submittals.
• Conducting periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with Construction Documents.
• Maintaining up to date knowledge of Building Codes and Design Standards.
