Job Title: Forging Operator Level 3

Summary
As a pivotal member of Trident Maritime Systems - CAC, LLC, the Forging Operator plays a crucial role in the precision forging and forming of parts and materials according to engineered specifications. This position requires advanced proficiency in operating and maintaining various equipment such as presses, ovens, manipulators, and forklifts to ensure efficient production processes.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safety protocols and procedures within the forging department.
Interpret and effectively execute work instructions, blueprints, and routing sheets with precision.
Lead setup and production activities for all forging jobs, ensuring optimal equipment utilization and adherence to quality standards.
Independently prepare materials for forging, demonstrating proficiency in material handling and furnace operation.
Take ownership of furnace operations, including startup, shutdown, and ongoing monitoring and adjustment during heat treat processes.
Operate and maintain manipulators and heavy-duty lift trucks equipped with forks or manipulators, ensuring safe and efficient material handling.
Expertly set up presses with appropriate tooling and thermocouples, ensuring accurate and efficient production runs.
Facilitate clear communication and coordination with manipulator operators and team members to optimize workflow and ensure seamless operations.
Conduct cross forging operations and effectively interpret complex engineering drawings to ensure product conformity.
Proficiently operate 3000 Ton & 6000 Ton Presses, identifying and addressing potential equipment issues promptly and effectively.
Mentor and train junior operators in advanced forging techniques and processes, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
Interface effectively with third-party inspectors, providing comprehensive insights into CAC forging operations to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Strategically schedule workflow in the forging area, maximizing furnace utilization and production efficiency.
Qualifications
Successful completion of advanced in-service training programs, demonstrating mastery of forging processes and equipment operation.
Exceptional proficiency in spoken, written, and reading English, with the ability to interpret technical documents and instructions effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently, with a keen attention to detail and commitment to precision.
Proven track record of leadership and teamwork, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Education and/or Experience
Extensive experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.
Expertise in advanced machine maintenance procedures.
Advanced courses in metalworking, machining, or industrial technology from a technical school or community college.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in forging operations or related manufacturing fields, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and expertise.
