Director of Utilities – Operations

The Director of Utilities – Operations is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of campus utilities generation, ensuring alignment with the university’s mission and goals, meeting regulatory compliance, and fostering continuous improvement in utility operations.
The Director of Utilities – Operations serves as a subject matter expert in campus and plant construction and operating strategies, working closely with campus stakeholders on master planning and construction activities. They also lead the development and improvement of University Energy Management (UEM) standards and specifications pertaining to the needs of district energy infrastructure and generation systems. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and be a Licensed Professional Engineer in a relevant discipline or have the ability to obtain licensure within two years. Additionally, they should possess at least five years of experience in energy management, engineering, power plant or similar operations, with a proven track record in administration, supervision, and leadership at a managerial level.
