As a Service Engineer, you'll have responsibility to support our organization’s ability to maintain, repair and overhaul gas turbine engines used in flight applications. A Service Engineer’s role is to focus on engine and module assembly and disassembly, along with associated special processes required as part of the engine overhaul process. This includes conveying technical work scope information from the customer to the shop technicians and developing required process documentation. Service engineers are responsible for ensuring that the engine work scope meets customer expectations for reliability, performance and configuration. Service Engineers are responsible for driving continuous improvement events in their areas to improve shop efficiency, safety, and quality. Within all these tasks, Service Engineers help ensure our compliance to relevant airworthiness and customer contractual requirements.
What you'll do:
Review customer required technical and contractual data and develop and communicate engine work scope direction to the shop floor.
Ensure correct engine configuration, and that required service bulletins & airworthiness directives are performed.
Generates engine condition reports for presentation to customers and assists other aspects of estimating & invoicing.
Generates First Article Inspection Reports to ensure that newly introduced product conform to the required standards.
Participates in component Material Review Boards (MRB) and evaluates nonconforming material for possible repair options to return to service.
Generates and maintains Shop Orders, Work Instructions, Temporary Overhaul Data Revisions, and other Documents used to convey process instructions to the shop technicians.
Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
Carry out other duties and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum.
Direct engineering experience with the CFM56-7B engine or other GE engine product line
Working knowledge of computer software systems
Working knowledge of gas turbine engine theory
Knowledge and experience in the following is preferred:
Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
Measurement Systems Analysis
Minimum of 5 years experience
Must be able to support off hours/on-call needs
Must be authorized to work in the US
PROCESS ENGINEER
As a Process Engineer, you will provide support and technical assistance on various problems relating to product quality, production processes and product failure investigations. Conducts process-related research consistent with business unit strategies and goals in areas including cost reduction, process improvements, equipment utilization, quality, cycle times and repair development. Responsible for procurement and commissioning of equipment.
What you'll do:
Production Support
Provides day-to-day production support to assigned processes.
Assists with the creation of matrix routings to manage the flow of materiel throughout the process.
Documents procedures and work instructions.
Provides process-related training with other support personnel.
Process Control and Improvement
Analyzes, develops and recommends methods to meet production requirements, improve economy and quality, and reduce turn-around-times for products and/or processes with supporting cost analysis.
Establishes, analyzes, and acts upon measures of performance related to processes.
Investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies relating to equipment and processes to reduce variation and improve reliability.
Repair Development and Implementation
Determines the actions necessary to develop new repairs from engineering data.
Contributes to the planning and conduct of repair trials to generate data for new repairs or to support existing repairs. Analyzes and documents the results of repair trials.
Proposes, researches, and performs cost benefit analysis for new equipment purchases.
In conjunction with the Production engineering group, acts as a liaison to coordinate the activities of Engineering and Operations during the implementation of new repairs and processes.
Other
Coordinates and interacts with the outside resources including contractors, equipment vendors, and supply vendors for process support, improvement, or repair development.
Provides support, technical expertise and experience to the Design Approval Organization (DAO) necessary to make airworthiness engineering decisions.
Remains current with state-of the-art technologies and processes.

University degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
Manual or CNC Machining and Tool Design experience preferred.
At least 3 years experience in an aerospace or manufacturing process engineering environment.
Must be authorized to work in the US.
SERVICE ENGINEER
