The Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at the Indiana University School of Medicine is recruiting an Associate or Full Professor to serve as Vice Chair of Translational Research. The successful candidate must have either a Ph.D. or M.D. degree, expertise in molecular mechanisms of disease, and an established research program with success in collaborative and translational research. The Department is particularly interested in candidates performing basic or translational research to address fundamental mechanisms of human genetic disease, develop functional genomic or therapeutic approaches, and/or use computational and bioinformatic approaches for genetic discovery, phenotypic delineation, or therapeutic development. All areas of genetic disease research will be considered and candidates with programs focused on epigenetic mechanisms of disease, RNA biology or therapeutics, or neuro-oncology are encouraged to apply. The candidate must be able to mentor medical students, graduate students, residents and/or fellows in research. It is highly desirable for the holder of this position to have secured long term NIH funding, and to have demonstrated the ability to collaborate with others.
