The School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for a non-tenure track Faculty of Engineering Practice position at all ranks. Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with interests and expertise in automotive, motorsports or aerospace engineering. Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree or an MSc. Degree with at least 5 years of professional experiences in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline by the start date of employment and demonstrate potential to integrate their professional practice with the School of Mechanical Engineering’s research, education, and/or engagement/outreach programs. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. Additionally, the candidate will offer student experiential learning activities, and support the school through industry outreach, undergraduate and graduate student research activities.
The School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University is ranked 6th nationally for undergraduate programs, 8th for graduate programs, and 1st for online graduate programs by U.S. News and World Report. The School of ME is one of the largest at Purdue University, and in the nation, with approximately 3000 undergraduate students, 1000 graduate students, 99 faculty, and 70 staff. The School of ME is home to several high-profile research laboratories with significant infrastructure and a long tradition of collaboration with industry, national laboratories, and other universities, including Ray W. Herrick Labs, Maurice Zucrow Labs, and Maha Labs. Mechanical Engineering faculty members also carry out a significant portion of research at the FLEX Lab, Birck Nanotechnology Center, and the newly established Manufacturing and Materials Research Laboratories.
