The BWW Board of Directors is seeking a General Manager to provide strategic direction, operational excellence, financial oversight, and community engagement all aimed at delivering exceptional, sustainable water services. The General Manager collaborates closely with the Board of Directors, and also actively engages with government entities, local businesses, and community leaders to champion BWW’s initiatives and contribute to regional development and sustainability efforts.
Birmingham Water Works offers a competitive total compensation package for this exceptional opportunity, including a starting salary range of $325,000 to $375,000, commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Public Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. Candidates with a master’s degree or a Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred. Applicants should possess a minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a water utility or a similarly regulated organization. Experience in strategic decision-making, operational management, and regulatory compliance within the utility sector is highly desirable.
