About the Role
As the Senior Civil Engineer, you’ll be responsible for administering the City’s Traffic Impact Study (TIS) ordinance, reviewing and maintaining the TIS database, and managing the city’s congestion management program. You'll coordinate with various departments to ensure project requirements are met and represent the Greensboro Department of Transportation at board and commission meetings. This role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and experience working with traffic studies, design software, and engineering standards. Qualifications
What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 4-6 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
“OR” an Associate Degree with 6-8 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
Experience using AutoCAD or similar Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) package in developing detailed design plans and cost estimates.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering site plans, specifications, and technical reports.
Engineering Intern Certification by NC Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors “OR” ability to acquire
Intermediate Microsoft Office Software 365 experience (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the North Carolina Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors "OR" the ability to acquire this certification.
4+ years of experience/knowledge of engineering principles and practices using AASHTO Green Book, MUTCD, AASHTO Roadside Design Guide, Highway Capacity Manual, Highway Safety Manual.
4+ years of experience working with Adobe or Blubeam pdf softwares.
4+ years of experience working with or knowledge of ArcGIS
