SHN's footprint (northern California and southern Oregon, from the coast inland) covers one of the most dynamic geologic environments in the country. Designing and building within this environment demands a special blend of knowledge and field experience that SHN’s geosciences team has grown over 40 years.
SHN is looking for a skilled Professional Engineer (PE) with geotechnical experience to be a part of an established team of geologists and engineers serving clients in northern California and southern Oregon. The candidate will work on a wide variety of projects in a geologically dynamic region. SHN is community-focused, with clients ranging from homeowners to municipal and governmental agencies. Our projects are equally as diverse in their level of complexity and technical challenges, and the PE will collaborate with knowledgeable senior staff and motivated engineers and geologists early in their careers. The PE will be provided with the opportunity to lead and/or collaborate on developing proposals and overseeing all stages of a geotechnical project including field and laboratory testing, data analysis, reporting, and construction phase. The PE will also benefit from working closely with materials testing technicians and special inspectors that support three fully accredited materials testing laboratories, located in Eureka and Willits, CA, and in Coos Bay, OR. Culture is important at SHN, and the right candidate will demonstrate SHN’s mission, vision, and values in everyday language and interactions with co-workers and our clients and vendors.
