The City of Glendale (population 191,586) is the fourth-largest city in Los Angeles County. Glendale Water & Power (GWP) is a municipal utility that serves over 34,000 water customers. The Water Engineering Manager reports to the Assistant General Manager – Water and leads a team of 11 full-time employees focused on delivering water infrastructure projects and supporting daily operations.

GWP seeks an experienced engineer with in-depth knowledge of water systems, regulatory compliance, and key business and management principles, as well as the ability to lead projects, manage budgets, and support staff development. A strategic, collaborative problem-solver who empowers their team will be ideal for this role.

Competitive candidates will offer eight years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience in the water industry, with at least four years of experience in a responsible supervisory capacity within a water utility system. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field and registration as a Professional Civil Engineer with the State of California are required.
